i was thinking about it a couple of days ago. i love your line that says that you write to remind yourself that suffering can also bring something beautiful out of you in writing. i feel this way too; my best writing comes from the memories of the suffering i once went through and haven't healed fully from. like i don't think i write when i am suffering, but when i am reminded of it six years after it happened and it still hurts. does that make sense?
It’s funny because I was thinking about this the other day as well. Much of my writing comes from a place of pain or suffering, but I also think that’s why it creates the best art because it allows our suffering to be seen.
this is so real as someone who's trying to write more, but also wants to be a happier person. i've come to recognize this link between my motivation for writing and my mental health. but what i've realized is that whilst my best writing seemingly comes when i'm saddest, i write more when i'm happiest. and i have been enjoying indulging in my passion a lot more, recently. thank you so much for writing about this topic!!
I knew im not the only one who feels this way!! im a poet, writing about forbidden love and yearning and just devastation really. just yesterday i felt ashamed when i realized i can beautifully describe how someone hurt me in a hundred ways, but i cant describe how my current relationship is healthy, how happy i am right now with my partner, how good he is towards me, how colorful the world has become since i met him.
beautifully put, this is so real
thankyou!!

I totally get this.
Damnn!! That's so well written and i definitely loved it
glad to know i’m not alone! hello from a fellow writer that writes their best while at their worst
I absolutely agree. Sunshine wrote a great piece about this, because I used to panic when the urge was quieter because the suffering was.
